May 5, 2026 — The Philippine Tax Academy – Local Government Finance Institute (PTA–LGFI), represented by Chancellor Ma. Pamela P. Quizon and Vice Chancellor Ma. Teresa S. Habitan, joined distinguished partners and stakeholders in celebrating the Ateneo School of Government’s (ASoG) 25th anniversary—marking a significant milestone in advancing transformative governance and public leadership in the Philippines.

Held at the Ateneo de Manila University, the event, “Transformative Governance: Shaping the Future of Public Leadership,” highlighted ASoG’s enduring contributions to public service, alongside its forward-looking strategic direction and governance initiatives.

The event was led by ASoG Dean Dr. Jennifer S. Oreta, who also presented the School’s strategic vision, alongside key figures such as Ateneo President Fr. Roberto C. Yap, SJ, and ASoG Co-founder Fr. Bienvenido F. Nebres, SJ, underscoring the institution’s strong foundation and continued leadership in governance reform .

During the celebration, PTA–LGFI leadership engaged with esteemed leaders and development partners, including former Department of Budget and Management Secretary Florencio “Butch” Abad, former Commission on Audit Commissioner Heidi Mendoza, and representatives from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)—Mr. Takashi Baba, Ms. Aira Iizuka, and Ms. Patricia Adolfo. These meaningful exchanges further strengthened dialogue on governance reform, fiscal decentralization, and public sector capacity development.

The PTA also extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Sharon Grace S. Yabut, MBA, Head of the Executive Education Program, and Mr. James Martin A. Ambat for their support and for making PTA’s participation in this milestone event possible.

PTA–LGFI’s participation reinforces its commitment to deepening collaboration with ASoG, as both institutions look ahead to future joint initiatives in local government development, public sector capacity building, and institutional strengthening—towards more effective, responsive, and transformative governance.
