The Philippine Tax Academy (PTA) formally announced the appointment of Ma. Pamela P. Quizon as the Chancellor of the Local Government Finance Institute (LGFI). The oath-taking ceremony took place on April 29, 2026 at the Department of Finance (DOF), Manila.

The ceremony was presided over by Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go, with PTA President Gil S. Beltran, LGFI Vice Chancellor Ma. Teresa S. Habitan, and Internal Revenue Institute (IRI) Vice Chancellor Ma. Lourdes V. Dedal in attendance to witness the oath-taking.

Leading the LGFI is not new to Chancellor Quizon, as she previously served as the OIC of the said institute while concurrently serving as Chancellor of the IRI.

Her appointment as LGFI Chancellor underscores the Academy’s steadfast commitment to the professionalization of Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) personnel, including local treasurers, and to capacitating local assessors, local officials and staff, and other concerned personnel in the preparation of schedule of market values (SMVs), as provided under RA No. 12001, or the Real Property Valuation and Assessment Reform Act (RPVARA) of 2024.

Under her leadership, the LGFI is expected to further enhance the competence and integrity of local finance administration across the country.
