April 28, 2026 — The Philippine Tax Academy – Internal Revenue Institute (PTA-IRI), under the leadership of Chancellor Ma. Pamela P. Quizon and Vice Chancellor Ma. Lourdes V. Dedal, marked a defining institutional milestone with the successful conduct of its first-ever Executive Briefing on the Real Property Valuation and Assessment Reform Act (RPVARA) for the senior leadership of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) at the Boardroom, RR7B, 24/F The Podium West Tower, Mandaluyong City.

This milestone engagement marks a significant first for the Philippine Tax Academy, positioning the Internal Revenue Institute as the pioneer in delivering high-level executive briefing on a major fiscal reform law to BIR leadership. It signals a significant step forward in the Academy’s evolving role—not only as a training institution, but as a strategic partner in advancing national tax policy and reform implementation.

The briefing was designed to provide BIR officials with a strategic appreciation of RPVARA and its far-reaching implications for tax administration, revenue mobilization, and whole-of-government policy alignment, particularly as the transition period approaches its conclusion.

The event convened key officials from the BIR and the Department of Finance (DOF), led by Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza, together with Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, and Head Revenue Executive Assistants. Also in attendance were Assistant Secretaries Atty. Joemyl J. Baloro of the DOF – Legal Services and Local Government Finance Group (LSLFG) and Atty. Euvimil Nina R. Asuncion of the DOF Revenue Operations Group (ROG), underscoring strong inter-agency collaboration in advancing RPVARA implementation.
