Basic Course on Customs Management and Administration

This basic course was excerpted in the Bureau of Customs Onboarding Program that offers opportunities for new and old employees in the Department of Finance (DOF) and other DOF attached agencies to navigate the various domains in the customs management and administration. By inculcating the basic information and functionalities of the organization, the employees will have an overall understanding of why what and how the organization operationalizes. This online training is a catalyst for the DOF employees specifically the newly hired employees assigned in the Revenue Operations group, By educating new entrants including old employees in the DOF family; this training will allow them to become more knowledgeable in supervising and becoming more productive in carrying out their duties and responsibilities as a Public Servant.

Introduction to Gender and Development (GAD) is an online course designed to provide BIR employees with the knowledge and awareness about GAD amidst the “new normal” when face-to-face training is not possible.  It is self-paced and can be accessed anywhere within a given period of time through the BIR’s e-learning platform. 

There are three learning modules.  The first module focuses on the history of GAD and women’s rights.  The second module discusses gender-related concepts and how social institutions contribute to the continuation of gender issues/biases. The third and last module highlights the BIR’s GAD accomplishments.  Different GAD programs, activities and projects being implemented in the National and Regional Offices are presented.

Briefing on Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Batch 5)

The Briefing on Data Privacy Act was designed to provide awareness and training to all BIR officials and employees about the proper collection, recording, organization, storage, updating or modification, retrieval, consultation, use, consolidation, blocking, erasure or destruction of personal data to ensure that the Bureau complies with the international standards for data protection set by the National Privacy Commission (NPC).

The course is designed to orient new entrants of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) to identify the agency’s mission-vision, thrusts as well as the services available to its clientele.  Basic areas of personnel administration, performance management system and employee benefits and career growth and development programs. Likewise, participants must be aware of the professional behavior that the organization requires including laws and regulations affecting their employment to give them greater sense of commitment from their work.         

The course also equips the participants with knowledge on the BIR operations enabling them to build an effective and cooperative work group.

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Onboarding Program was designed specifically to acclimatize the newly hired employees on the organizations’ mandate, vision, mission including basic operational knowledge on how the BOC works. By inculcating the basic information and functionalities of the organization, the employees will have an overall understanding on why, what and how the organization operationalized. By capacitating new entrants on these areas, it will allows them to become more knowledgeable and productive in carrying out their duties and responsibilities as a Public Servant.
